TL;DR: Great working cafe. Fast Internet, many sockets, diverse crowd of young and old, singles and families. It is a reminiscence of Berlin from the time before the hipsters arrived.
It’s hard to believe, but up till a few years ago, most international cafes in Berlin were real “Germans”. This means: heavy wood furniture, big hearty brunches, and most importantly: no wifi! A real Berliner doesn’t waste his life online! Oh no. He wastes his life drinking beer and partying.
Hilde is a reminiscence to this era, with one big exception: they got great Internet, and many sockets.
The crowd is a combination of people who live in the city: old and young. Singles and families. People typing fast in their computer, and groups having lunch. The music is not loud and the coffee is steaming hot.
Hilde is a great working cafe. The only reason for the imperfect score, is that there’s nothing that makes it stand out.
